What this document is

A plain record of what $PIU is, what it is attached to, and what it does not claim. It is not a pitch and it is not advice. If a sentence here only works as a reason to buy, it does not belong in this document and we have tried to keep it out.

The character

Piu is a knitted plush, dark blue, at adult human height, roughly 170 cm. His surface is a dense boucle loop pile of small curled tufts. He has a rounded head that takes up close to half his height, two large white oval eyes with big dark pupils set wide and low, and a thin stitched mouth with a slight upward curve. No nose, no ears, no hair. Short stub arms and legs, no hands and no fingers.

He is an accountant by profession and an amateur rocket engineer by obsession. He builds rockets in his garage. They fail. He rebuilds. The Moon is the destination he dreams about. The garage is where he lives.

That description is the canon. It exists so that every image, animation, plush and piece of writing shows the same character rather than a family of near misses.

Positioning

Piu is not a memecoin with a mascot. He is a character who has a token.

Mascots serve a coin. They exist to give a ticker a face. Characters are the product, and the coin is one expression of the character rather than the other way around. $PIU is how the community participates in Piu’s journey. It is not the journey.

Practically, that means the project is judged on the work: the story, the images, the animation, the things people make. A flat chart does not stop any of that.

What Piu cares about

These are constraints on what the project makes, not slogans.

  1. Persistence. Staying when others leave, starting over after a failure.
  2. Authenticity over hype. Doing the work rather than performing it.
  3. Community over speculation. People matter more than charts.
  4. Honesty about the gap between the dream and the means.
  5. Kindness in a space that rewards aggression.

  7. Resourcefulness. Doing a lot with little.

Project. This is a small project. The people working on it can stop. The character is designed to outlive any single contributor, but nothing about that is certain.
